Warranty, Terms & Conditions

1. General Warranty Terms
– The warranty begins on the date of project handover .
– Warranty is applicable only to the original purchaser and at the original installation location.
– The product must be used for normal residential use and maintained as per Space Codes Studio’s care guidelines.
– Any unauthorized modification, misuse, negligence, or lack of maintenance will void the warranty.

3. What is Not Covered
– Normal wear and tear, including cuts, scratches, fading, and surface abrasions.
– Water damage from leaks, seepage, high humidity, or spills.
– Pest-related damage, including termites, ants, borers, or fungal infestation.
– Corrosion or rusting due to moisture, chemicals, or poor maintenance.
– Acts of God such as earthquakes, floods, cyclones, fire, vandalism and other natural calamities.
– Third-party installations, structural changes, or cabinet re-alignment post-installation.
-Plywood is a natural material and may undergo slight warping, expansion, or contraction due to climatic conditions, especially during monsoonal changes. As this is a natural characteristic of the material, such behaviour is not covered under warranty.”
– Use of abrasive or chemical cleaning agents not approved for the materials. Improper cleaning methods, especially using abrasive or corrosive products.
– Items installed outside of domestic environment.
– Colour and finish mismatches if replacement materials are unavailable or discontinued.
4. False Ceiling Warranty (Gypsum)
Applicable only to Space Codes Studio-executed gypsum false ceilings, valid for 3 months:
Covered if:
– Total false ceiling area should exceed 500 sq. ft.
– Issues like flaking, cracks, or detachment are identified during QC inspection at handover.
– Paint failures limited to affected areas.
Warranty is Void if:
– Water leakage, dampness or seepage from external sources.
– Structural issues or anchoring defects.
– Physical damage by external impact or objects.
– Fading and chalking in coastal regions (considered natural).
Repairs are limited to the affected portion only.
5. On-Site Solutions – Warranty Exclusion
The following services are considered on-site executions and are not covered under warranty , unless defects are reported during the final QC inspection at handover.
– Electrical Work: Wiring, socket fitting, switchboards, and any post-installation electrical failure.
– Plumbing: Drain pipes, sink fittings, tap connections; leaks after handover are excluded.
– Countertops & Stone Work: Granite, marble, quartz installation; cracks, chipping, or stains over time.
– Tiling & Flooring: Includes ceramic, vitrified, or stone tiles; damage from substrate failure or impact.
– Painting & Plastering: Flaking, bubbling, or discoloration after handover.
– Curtains, Blinds & Fabrics: Rods, fabric sagging, fading, or wear due to daily use.
– Wallpapers: Peeling or failure due to humidity or wall imperfections or due to environmental failure.
No warranty will be extended to any structural, finishing, or surface work done on-site post-handover . Labour and Material may cost extra depending upon the work .
6. Warranty Claim Process
To submit a claim:
– Email: spacecodesstudio.chennai@gmail.com
– Include:
– Invoice/contract copy
– Detailed description of the issue
– Clear images & video
– Notify within 7 days from the day the issue is observed.
Inspection Outcome:
– Space Codes Studio will assess whether the defect is covered.
– Final decision rests solely with the authorized representative.
– Repair/replacement may be on-site or require return to factory.
– Replacement parts may differ slightly in texture or finish if the original design is unavailable / dis-continued.
7. Service & Customer Responsibilities
– Repairs will be addressed promptly, but timelines may vary based on complexity.
– Customers must ensure access to site, and provide basic utilities like stool, ladder, water, and light.
– Space codes studio does not provide alternate living arrangements during service period.
8. Post-Handover
-A 30 days grace period post-handover is available for minor maintenance (free of charge).
9. Legal Terms & Limitations
– Warranty is non-transferable to secondary owners & tenants.
– Claims raised after 30 days of defect detection may be rejected.
– All repairs/replacements are subject to current product availability.
– Exact match in finish, grain, or shade cannot be guaranteed and for discontinued items as well.
– Maximum liability is limited to the product’s original purchase value.
– No arbitration or legal action should begin before completing internal evaluation.
10. Eligibility Summary
Warranty will be honored when:
– Product is used for its intended purpose in a residential setting.
– No modification or relocation has been done.
– Issue is reported promptly within 7 days of discovery.
– The item is within its defined warranty period.
– Full payment for the project is made and all terms of service are fulfilled.
